Light Where None Exists
Hello and welcome to the wiki for Light Where None Exists! We will use this wiki as a staging ground for adventuring while we’re apart, and when the campaign is split up (Like right now!). We will be using special codes for our adventures, and, until I can make a website for our campaign, you will have to familiarize yourself with these bits.
Start a page title like this:
C(# of your character [ #1 – Jesis, 2 – Gagaso, 3 – Jet, 4 – Duadexa, 5 – Rose, 6 – Kay, 7 – Taaran, 8 – Kazul] )
R(# of the round ie: 1, 2, etc.)
Adventure Name (Current: Brennenburg Castle)
Example: C2R1BrennenburgCastle [Water Room 2]
Make sure you understand what you’re doing before you make a page! I know this format, but I might not be able to read it if you do it wrong. When I make our website, you can title your pages differently, but for now, leave it in this format!
After you name your page, describe what your character does in the round itself. I will (hopefully) figure out a system of movement, especially considering we have a lot of room to work with. If I can’t do it, just do what you think your character could do in terms of movement. Make sure you tell me your marching order on a specific page, and stick to it! I cannot police it all the time, and it’d get annoying to edit every single page!
For now, let’s use this mainly for getting out of the room we’re currently in. I’ll make the website hopefully by tomorrow, and we can actually play on that.
Have fun, and do your best to understand!
h3. HTML and Textile
To style things how you want, you can use either HTML (with some restrictions) or a simple formatting language called Textile. It’s up to you, but Textile is pretty easy, while simultaneously allowing for lots of customization.
You may also want to link your character to the top of your post, like a header signature. You can do this by:
Linking to characters
For PCs and NPCs in your campaign, the easiest thing is to use the PC/NPC Link Lookup in the sidebar to the right. It’s quite handy! Otherwise, the links behave much like a wiki link, just with a colon at the start.
Also, you might wish to link your order ininitiative by placing the page that went before you at the beginning of your post with HTML code as well. Do the same for the next player by referring to the linking characters section.
h3. Linking to existing pages
To link to existing pages, use the same double square brackets. For example, here’s a link to this page: Main Page
Linking to a page with different text
If you don’t want to use the page’s name as the link text, you can specify your own text by placing a vertical bar | and the link text in the link like so: Linking with different text
Here’s an example of play, using Gagaso as an example.
Title: C2R1BrennenburgCastle [Water Room 2] (Note: For this, link the page with the description of the room to your title)
Body: [[:Rose:]] (She who went before him) Gagaso looks around, noting each piece of the wall, boxes, and pillars. The door sits sixty feet in front of him, and he watches the steps in the water carefully, trying not to disturb the water as much as possible. He leans close to Kay and whispers: “Hey, try to distract it with the meat we just picked up. Throw it over there.” He motions to an open plot of water in a far corner. [[:Kay:]] (Who comes next)
